Is There Still A Future For Laptops In The Tablet World?
With so many tablet PCs competing with one another, the level of progress manufacturers go through to stay in business in creating more advance tablet PCs that are available to the market are just mind-boggling. Apple has just released their new iPad 2 which is obviously faster and thinner than its predecessor and if other tech giants won’t work on their own tablets, they won’t be able to stay competitive. Which comes in to mind; what is going to happen to the traditional laptop design we have been so used to?
Today, there are already some notebook computers that are gradually moving away from the traditional design by creating a whole new genre of computers for the future. There are laptops today that still have the basic notebook design but don’t have the normal keyboards anymore but two touch screen displays. No need for a mouse either since touch screen technology solves this issue.
In the UK today, we see laptop owners who also have a tablet PC at the same time. Who knows, eventually laptops as we know it today will only exist in our memory or museums as it has evolved to the tablet PC of the future. Right now, those who purchase laptop insurance UK are aware of the need to protect their portable computers. Laptop insurance starts at only £2.99 and can insure against theft and accidental damages. But will the same laptops be here in the next 10 years or will the tablet PC dominate the tech world? Let’s all hope we still see that day.
Avoiding Water Damage
When you insure your laptop, it will be covered for accidental damage and theft — it also covers you for water damage. When considering the mobility and convenience of portable computers, it is important to have insurance because they are very susceptible to damage.
Laptops are likely to suffer from water damage at one point or another. It can occur from a spilled drink or from walking in the rain. It can take place in your home, place of employment, school, while traveling or in a cafe.
As a general rule, do not have drinks near your laptop and certainly do not allow children with drinks near it…
When you have insurance, you only need to pay the small monthly fee, as well as the nominal excess fee in the event of a claim. This is much less than the hundreds of pounds that you would have to pay in order to purchase a brand new computer. Knowing that you have worldwide coverage lets you have a worry-free user experience.
