You may find that you will have to purchase a new laptop computer every couple of years or so, as the computer may become outdated and will not operate as fast as you would like.

A few quick solutions to these problems is upgrading the short-term memory and performing some maintenance tasks, but these rarely provide a permanent solution.  However, purchasing a new computer will allow you to take advantage of new technology that is currently available.

When selecting a new computer some of the aspects that you will need to consider is the speed of the processor, the weight of the laptop, the short-term memory, the hard drive space, as well as the additional options that you may need.

In addition, you should also consider laptop insurance, as it is the only way for your laptop to be truly protected.  This type of insurance will safeguard your device from theft, accidental and liquid damage anywhere in the world.  The premium is only £2.99 per month for laptops worth up to £600 and £5.99 for values up to £1200!

Laptop computer owners will often have a computer that does not provide them with many storage options.  This is typically due to the size of their hard drive, which limits their ability to save additional items.  However, there are companies that have created external hard drives that allow the user to store additional documents and media files.

The external hard drive is plugged into the USB port located on the laptop and then the user is able to move documents from the computer to the external drive.  In addition, users can save directly to the device.  It is also commonplace for laptop users to backup their laptop computer hard drive in case their computer becomes damaged.

Many computer users also purchase laptop insurance so that their computer is protected at all times.  This type of insurance provides protection from accidental damage, liquid damage and theft no matter where the incident occurred in the world.  Reasonably priced monthly premiums are only £2.99 for laptops worth up to £600 or £5.99 for laptops worth up to £1200.

Computer users have a decision to make when they are ready to purchase a new one. They weigh the benefits and disadvantages of purchasing either one before they move forward. Obviously, it is a good idea to do some research before you make your decision.

Laptop
* portable
* lightweight
* can be used at multiple locations
* can be more susceptible to theft and damage

Desktop
* stationary
* heavy
* can only be used at home
* can have more hard drive space and programs

Even though laptops have some drawbacks, they can be taken care of with laptop insurance. For instance, you will be protected for accidental damage, liquid damage and theft. A few pounds per month is all you need to enjoy these benefits. If you were ever to become a victim of one of these events, then you would simply pay the small excess fee to get your laptop replacement.
